OUR STORY
Camila
Camila is originally from Manizales, Colombia and lived many years in Bogotá.
​
Her U.S. adventures started in 2009. After four years at IDB/Brookings/IMF she decided she had had enough of DC and went to Champaign/Urbana IL to get her Ph.D.
​
In 2015 she started playing soccer and going to salsa practice.

We met on May 30, 2015 at a friends birthday party. The first time we talked we were playing pool.
​
After a few salsa outings, a wedding in Cali (as in Valle del Cauca, Colombia) and many hours together that summer, we started dating officially on August 12. We started living together a year after that.
​
On Christmas day, 2016, Pedro popped the question and they said "yes" to one another.

Pedro was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela.
​
His adventures in the U.S. started in 2010, when after a few years of procrastination, he came around to the idea of getting his physics Ph.D.
During the many years he spent in Urbana-Champaign he took salsa as a hobby, spent a year in Long Island and became a regular at Cowboy Monkey.
